We celebrated Weston's 14th birthday, which included a friend party. He wanted to play kickball again, but that requires several people, and we didn't think we'd get enough to play. So we opted to have the party at our church to play a game in the gym. They played a game we call "in-box", which we made up a little while back to play with our family. It involves kicking bouncy balls and trying to get them to land in the opposite lane or "paint" area (IN the BOX). You can't use your hands and you can't cross the half court line. You can only kick the ball or use your head to deflect the ball. You get a point when the ball lands in the other team's lane. It can bounce off the back wall or the basket first so you have to carefully defend that box from all sides. The more balls you have going, the more fun. It's a little hard to keep track of points but really fun to play. After the game, we had an Italian dinner with lasagna, garlic bread, homemade rolls, and salad, with chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert (cookies 'n cream of course!).
He got his requested Lego set for his birthday, along with a few other things. Savannah did a painting for Weston, with the inspiration being a photo from Weston's Lego Star Wars world. She also made a clay Lego guy for him. She's very thoughtful! Weston really needed some more shirts to go in his rotation. He got a Muir Woods "May the Forest Be With You" shirt and Star Wars "The Faith is Strong With This One" shirt. He's really into Star Wars.
