Big 3!

We celebrated Weston's birthday nearly a month ago.  I had a hard time figuring out what he wanted for his birthday.  For every question, the answer was "cake."
"What do you want for breakfast on your birthday?"
  "Cake."
"I know you want cake.  But what do you want for breakfast?"
"Cake."
"What do you like to eat for dinner?"
"Cake."
"What kind of toys do you want for your birthday?"
  "Cake."
"Okay, what kind of cake do you want?"
  "Turtle."
  "You want a turtle cake?"
  "Es."

Okay, at least I figured out what kind of cake he wanted.  He does really like animals right now.  Whenever he goes to nursery at church, he always goes straight for the animals.  He has a panda bear that he really likes to play with.

He had pancakes, sausage, bacon, and eggs for breakfast.  He had watermelon and Oreos for lunch.  He LOVES watermelon.  I think we had mac & cheese with hotdogs for dinner.  He got to go to his favorite park in the afternoon.

Since Papa John and Grandma were coming the day after his birthday, we decided to wait on doing his cake.  And we saved some of the presents.  BUT since the only thing Weston really wanted for his birthday was cake, I made a little mini one on his actual birthday.  It was one of those cake-in-a-mug things, the ones you make in the microwave.  It didn't turn out great, but after a bunch of frosting and M&M's, it was acceptable.  Weston seemed to like his mini turtle cake and ice cream.

The day after his birthday, he got his real turtle cake.  He was so cute trying to blow out the candles.

And he got to open the rest of his presents.  He was excited for more animals and for the little shovel and hoe that Papa John and Grandma gave him.

He carried those animals with him everywhere for a while, just like I predicted... We did something right.

Can't believe my youngest boy is THREE!  He's a little behind on his language, but has such a cute little personality.  Life wouldn't be the same with Weston!

Hey...he even had his hair combed in this last set of pictures. What a cutie- although I guess boys don't like to be called "cute" :) And he even has RED hair- just like his mom :)
