After Christmas

Nathan had another tournament after Christmas - 3 games, with the 4th one being cancelled due to teammates having Covid and not enough players.  He hasn't got hardly any playing time this season, so this tournament was his chance to play.  I got to see him play about 20 minutes, which I consider a tender mercy (he likely won't get more than a couple minutes the rest of the season).  It wasn't good that his teammates had Covid, but it did allow Nathan to get some time off the bench.  He made 5 points too - one of those a 3 pointer.

Alex and I got our December temple visit in, on a rainy day.  Wet/cold outside, warm heart inside. It took us a LONG time on the drive home - stuck in traffic for hours.

Alex got one last hike in before 2022 as well, with Jared, Owen, and Weston - a beautiful day for a hike!  Mission Falls hike - about 7 miles.  Weston was the one pushing them to go on, so I think he's adapted to the hiking.  Good thing - because he has several more years of it, especially being the second to last kid!

We celebrated New Year's Eve in the comfort of our home.  We did make a few more chocolate loaf deliveries and we saved one for us to eat this time (the kids were wondering when we made the Christmas deliveries if we'd get one for ourselves).  I also made "puppy chow mix" and we had Martinelli's.  We played a new game Owen got for Christmas - Herd Mentality - which was pretty fun.  I can't remember now if we watched a movie or not, but we did watch the countdown and ball drop at midnight to ring in the new year.  Good-bye 2021 - Hello 2022!
