school things

Early in March was World Book Day, where the kids got to dress up as characters from a book.  We forgot about it until 10 minutes before it was time to leave for school.  So Savannah pulled out her Rapunzel costume (from Halloween) and we whipped up costumes from Dr. Seuss.  Their hair needs a bit of work, but I only had a few minutes to make them.

Nathan put together a science project, with the idea of testing different seeds in an enclosed ecosystem.  I don't recall what the results were, but he was successful at growing plants in the enclosed system without having to water them at all.  I was impressed!

Savannah continued to draw and write all year.  I thought it was cute that she wrote a letter to her best friend (who moved away during the year...).  We weren't able to send it, because we didn't have an address, but it was sweet of her to make something for her friend.  The last picture is of Rapunzel with some of the words to the song in the movie "Tangled" - "...flower gleam and glow, let your power shine..."  She is so smart and doing well at sounding out words and trying to write them.
