Welcome back!

Alex got back in the middle of March.  On the day he got back, Nathan broke his arm (hairline fracture).  He blocked a really hard shot in soccer during PE and heard his arm crack.  It was painful, but we didn't think it was broken.  I picked up Alex and we looked at several of his Antarctica pictures that afternoon and evening.  Nathan kept complaining about his arm, so we finally called and talked to a nurse.  Alex ended up sitting in the ER for a few hours, waiting for Nathan to get an X-ray, and it did reveal a fracture.  He had to wear a cast for about a month (and he got out of PE for 6 weeks).  It wasn't the welcome back that Alex expected, sitting in the ER that evening.  I'm glad that I didn't have to take Nathan in there.

Alex surprised the younger kids by picking them up from school the day he got back.  They were happy to see him, but he looked a little bit different with a beard!  He's getting old though, with some of the beard coming in white...
