York

Just an hour's train ride away from Durham was a cool destination - York.  We went to the Railway Museum, Clifford's Tower, Jorvik Viking Centre, York Minister, wandered around the city and the city walls, and had dinner at an expensive pizza place.  It was cold of course, but we had a nice day.

View from Clifford's Tower:

This was an interesting place. When we walked in, the floor was pretty cool - walking on glass, being able to view underneath us.  Then we got on a ride, a slow tour through scenes depicting the vikings.  And at the end was another area with a skeleton and some other relics.

Wandering through the city - the Helter Skelter slide was a rip-off.  We paid 6 pounds for Owen, Weston, and Savannah to slide down once.  I thought they would get to slide at least a few times, but the guy pulled the carpet from them right after the first ride.  I guess it was 2 pounds per slide... Pizza was expensive too!
